1960's
Unlike in the 1950’s, the 1960’s were a time for improvements. Vaccines were now able to cure multiple diseases with one shot. Maurice Hellman was the first to combine the cure for three different diseases into one vaccine along with this accomplishment he also became the first person to produce a licensed vaccine. Vaccine he created was tested in 1961 on his daughter, Jeryl Lynn, Among the multiple cures in his vaccine was the rubella cure. By using this cure in his compound vaccine he was able to stop the spread of rubella in small children. After the release of his vaccine there were no large outbreaks of rubella. Although it seems one person, Maurice Hellman, was the only person to working in this time period, he was the most important.
