HYGIENE
The soldiers that went into the treatment camps because of their wounds received the best services for the amount of time that the surgeons had but sadly because of the large amount of people that needed help the surgeries were rushed. Due to the importance of speed and not of quality there wasn’t much time for doctors to clean their instruments; so there were many cases of blood being shared between patients. The treatment tents were not the only places where disease could easily be caught, the entire battle field was infested with disease. Soldiers could recount the seeing bodies stacked on top on one another until they could be buried and the smell of death and disease would fill the fields.
