PROGRESSIVISM (1890-1921)
The progressive era served as a time for public awareness; because of the new medicine was already discovered there seemed the next step was to make it public. The medicine created during this time was most commonly distributed to the poor and young children because of their lack of accessibility. Because of the assembly line, introduced by Henry Ford, companies were able to mass produce antitoxins to prevent the spread of disease. The antitoxin was then given to school children and newborns with weak immune systems. As a product of children receiving the vaccine parents were more aware of the measures that needed to be taken in order to stay healthy and better endure the world around them.
